Popular Lagos OAP, IK Osakioduwa Leaves Rhythm FM After 18 Years

IK Osakioduwa has left Rhythm FM after 18 years, as disclosed in an announcement he shared on his Twitter page last night.

According to the media personality, he made the decision because he wants to try out something different. He further disclosed that he has no beef with the Silverbird group, as he has a good relationship with the CEO of the company, Ben Bruce.

He further disclosed that it was quite nice working with the Silverbird group, who allowed him to venture into different media sections including TV without feeling threatened by the move.

According to IK Osakioduwa, he has 15 days more with the media brand, and he will be giving away N18,000 on each day of the show he features in.

Ikponwonsa Osakioduwa was born on May 21, 1979, to the family of Brigade General Samuel Oviawe and Sandra Oviawe in Lagos, Nigeria. IK started acting as a child in school dramas and by the time he graduated from Kings College in Lagos, it was certain he was going to be in the entertainment industry.

However, in compliance with the National Youth Service Corps, which is a one-year mandatory service of all graduate Nigerians, he had to leave the radio station to serve in a neighbouring state.

He also worked in an advertising firm as a Client Service Executive, and in 2005 he returned to the radio station, Rhythm 93.7, and retained the name The Wild Child.

His biggest break was when he became the host of Africa’s biggest reality television show ‘Big BrotherAfrica.’ He took over the show and made it his own, showing his media prowess.
