COMR. TAIWO, Samson., The intending aspirant for NANS NATIONAL FINANCIAL SECRETARY popularly addressed as ALAGA joins all Nigeria students both home and diaspora in Celebrating the INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY.
“Being a Student in Nigeria is Never easy” he said, “Despite the fact that our great country is owning up a great budget, the Education sector always get the least attention.” He lamented
He therefore call on the Government to please stop seeing education as a Source of revenue generation as this would do nothing but make education less affordable for an average home. “This is a call on our government to start seeing education as what it truly is, Education is a Social Service, not a Money Making Machine” he added.
He, however, lamented on the government abandonment of some Public Tertiary institutions across Nigeria which had led to acclaimed Tertiary Institutions having dilapidated buildings and less infrastructure.
“Delay Payment of our Lecturers is vital. Low funding of the educational sector had created enough channel for academic strike and less standard education in the country” He added.
He also ask the Government to direct its focus towards resolving the HND/BSc. Dichotomy. “This discrimination had stand too long in our well enlightened and civilized country. This discrimination among HND/BSC certificate should have been done away with a long time ago.”
He therefore Appreciated the Nigeria Students for the underserved support he had gotten so far.
